Oregon Cake

16 oreo cookies, crushed

1 box vanilla cake mix (plus required ingredients)

2 sticks butter, softened

5 c. powdered sugar

3 Cookies ‘n’ Cream bars, melted

1/4 c. milk

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 c. mini Oreos, optional (for decorating)

4 oreos cookies crushed, for on top of frosting

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. grease and flour two round 9×9” baking pans or place liners for cupcakes.

Prepare cake mix according to package instructions.

Place 16 oreos in gallon bag and crush. Fold in crushed Oreos into batter until evenly combined.

Bake according to package instructions. Let cool completely.

Meanwhile, make the frosting.

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy.

In a medium microwave bowl, break up candy bar and melt in 30 second increments until melted.  Add to the butter

Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then add milk and vanilla and beat until smooth.

Top with crushed oreos and garnish with mini Oreos, if wanted.

NOTE: If you decorate with whole oreos, they will go stale quickly.  Found using just the crushed oreos works better.

If you are making a round cake, suggest garnishing with a fresh oreo from the bag when serving.

Also found there was a lot of frosting left over.
