Hot Dog Sauce

2 Tbsp bacon drippings OR 4oz olive oil

½ cup chopped onion

1 small garlic chopped

1 lb ground beef

½ tsp salt

1 can (29oz) crushed tomatoes

2 Tbsp chili powder

½ cup water

½ tsp ground cloves

  1. In medium pot over medium high heat, place bacon drippings OR olive oil, add garlic and ground beef. Cook until meat is browned.
  2. Add tomatoes, mix well and add remainder of ingredients.
  3. Cover and simmer gently 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

NOTE: Better if made a day in advance. Seems better warmed up. This makes a pretty large batch. You may want to cut this in half.
