GREEN BEANS with WALNUTS
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
4 Tbsp butter
1 tsp balsamic vinegar or red-wine vinegar
1/8 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp walnuts, coarsely chopped
VARIATION: You can either steam or microwave the green beans to speed up the process.
In a large non-stick skillet, bring 1 inch of water to a boil over medium heat. Add green beans. Cook, uncovered until crisp-tender (about 7 minutes) Drain in a colander and place green beans on a serving plate.
Add butter, vinegar and pepper to same skillet. Cook until butter is melted and mixture is sizzling (about 3 minutes).
Stir in walnuts.
Drizzle walnut sauce over green beans.
