OATMEAL CARAMELETTAS

350o 10 mins and the 15-20 mins.
INGREDIENTS
14oz. caramels (approx. 50)
½ cup evaporated milk
1-1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1-1/2 cup butter – melted
2 cups flour
2 cups quick oats
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup or 6oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecans or walnuts – chopped (optional)
DIRECTIONS
In pot, melt caramels in the evaporated milk. Let cool slightly
Create crumb mixture, in medium bowl, combine brown sugar, butter, flour, quick oats, baking soda and salt. Split the mixture in half.
Press ½ of the crumb mixture in 9×13 pan
Bake for 10 minutes
Remove from oven and cover with chocolate and nuts
Spread caramel sauce over the chocolate and nuts
Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over top
Bake 15-20 minutes or until light brown
Cool 1-2 hours and cut into bars
